Six Flags Great America is divided up into nine themed areas, each featuring its own, unique, Americana theme.

Carousel Plaza is the park's main entrance. Columbia Carousel and its reflection pond serve as the centerpiece to Carousel Plaza, and is also home to two shops, and guest services.

County FairEdit

The "Great Midwest Livestock Exposition and County Fair", also known as County Fair, is Great America's largest themed area. It is themed after a late 19th century county fair, and is home to numerous rides and attractions.

NOTE: County Fair rides, food locations, and merchandise shops will not open until 11:00 a.m.

Southwest TerritoryEdit

Southwest Territory was added in 1996 on the land formerly occupied by Rolling Thunder. A western themed themed area, then known as "The Great Southwest" was planned to be added during the Marriott-era, but never was built.

Yukon TerritoryEdit

Yukon Territory is themed to the Klondike areas in North America, and is home to two of the park's children's areas.

Yankee HarborEdit

Yankee Harbor is themed to an early 20th century New England harbor. However, a large portion has been re-themed to a Gotham City theme.

Mardi GrasEdit

In 2004, Six Flags redeveloped the Roaring Rapids area of Orleans Place into Mardi Gras, and added four new rides. It is themed to a Mardi Gras carnival.

Orleans PlaceEdit

Orleans Place is themed to Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is one of the few areas in the park that still plays its themed music from the Marriott era.
